Privacy Policy

Wakey Jakey is an AI voice alarm. The night before, it generates a short personalized morning briefing (an audio file) and caches it on your device, so the alarm can play it reliably the next morning. To write that briefing we send a distilled summary of the things you turn on (calendar event times/titles, to-dos, your stated goal) and a coarse, city-level location to two named AI providers. We never sell your data, we don't use advertising or third-party tracking, and you can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app at any time.

What we collect and why

1. Account information

Email address — used to create your account and sign you in. Authentication is handled by Supabase (our backend platform); sign-in emails are delivered by Resend (our email provider). We store your email to identify your account and send transactional sign-in messages only. We do not send marketing email.

2. Data used to generate your briefing (only what you turn on)

You choose which sources to enable, and nothing leaves your device until you explicitly consent to the named AI providers below. When enabled, we send a distilled summary, never the raw contents:

• Calendar — only the time and title of today's events. Never event notes, attendees, locations, or descriptions.
• To-dos / reminders — only short task titles.
• Approximate location — your location rounded to roughly one decimal degree (~11 km / city level) so the server can fetch your local weather forecast. Your precise location never leaves your device.
• Your goal — the one goal you enter so Jakey can give you a goal-linked nudge.

Data minimization is deliberate: we send titles, times, and short text — never raw calendar or reminder bodies.

3. The generated briefing

The briefing audio we create is cached on your device (so the alarm works offline and through silent mode / Focus) and stored in our backend (Supabase Storage) so it can be regenerated and delivered.

Third-party AI providers (named, as required)

To generate your briefing we share the distilled summary above with:

• Anthropic (Claude) — writes the briefing script from your distilled summary. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
• ElevenLabs — converts the script to speech in Jakey's original voice. See ElevenLabs' privacy policy.

We also fetch your local forecast from Apple WeatherKit (Apple's own weather service) using only your coarse location and our server's key — it does not receive your identity or other personal data.

These providers process the data to deliver the service. We do not authorize them to use your data to train their models for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

What we do NOT do

• No advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No selling or renting of personal data.
• No precise location ever leaves your device.
• No voice cloning of real people — Jakey is an original, owned synthetic voice.

Where your data is stored

Account data, the distilled briefing context, and generated audio are stored in Supabase (Postgres database + Storage). Access is restricted per-account by row-level security.

Data retention and deletion

• You can delete your account and all associated data from inside the app (Account → Delete Account). This removes your database records and your stored briefing audio, and signs you out.
• Cached briefing audio on your device is removed when you delete the app or your account.

Children

Wakey Jakey is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change what data we collect or which providers we use, we will update this policy and its effective date at this page.
